One Book That Made the Trip
No Big Bad Wolf trip is ever just about browsing. Somewhere between the aisles, I spotted a Sophie Kinsella book—and that was it. She’s my favorite author, so of course it came home with me. Moments like that are what make book hunts extra special.

An Interview with Big Bad Wolf Books Leaders
During the event, we had the chance to sit down with Ms. Ley Almeda, Country Manager of Big Bad Wolf Books Philippines, and Mr. Bernard Lee, Business Director of Big Bad Wolf Books Malaysia, to learn more about why they chose to return to GenSan and what readers can expect this year.

Why Return to GenSan?
According to Mr. Bernard Lee, the decision to come back was rooted in the warmth of the community.
The team felt the hospitality of GenSan during their first visit, and the response last year was very encouraging. Readers showed genuine excitement and a strong appetite for books, which made returning an easy choice.
Ms. Ley Almeda added that the continued support from the community is the main reason Big Bad Wolf Books keeps coming back. She encouraged readers to keep supporting the event so it can remain a regular stop in GenSan.
What’s New This Year?
One major difference this year is the collection of titles.
Mr. Bernard shared that aside from a few evergreen books, most of the titles available now are completely new. Readers won’t see the same selection from last year, as the books have been freshly curated.
This year’s highlights include:
- Top 10 Trending Books worldwide and in the Philippines (Children, Fiction, and Non-Fiction)
- Thematic islands featuring BookTok favorites and niche interests like dinosaurs, cats and dogs, space, and Star Wars
The layout and overall concept offer a totally different experience compared to last year.
Ms. Ley also pointed out that BookTok titles—books made popular on TikTok—are a major addition this time. Workshops have expanded as well, including pottery, art sessions, and silent reading—activities they weren’t able to fully offer during their previous visit.
New Promos to Watch Out For
Big Bad Wolf Books also introduced several new promotions this year:
- Book Stack promo
- Lucky Draw
- Tiered promos
At the same time, crowd favorites remain, including student discounts, teacher discounts, and school discounts, giving readers even more reasons to fill their carts.
Tips for First-Time Big Bad Wolf Readers
For first-time visitors who might feel overwhelmed, Mr. Bernard recommends starting at the Top 10 and Best Seller tables. These sections are carefully curated and make choosing books easier.
Ms. Ley’s advice is to come in with an open mind. Many titles available aren’t commonly found in local bookstores, making discovery part of the fun. Bringing a Christmas list can also help, especially if you’re shopping for gifts for family and friends of all ages.
If you’re looking for a specific title, the Customer Service desk is always available to help you check what’s in stock.

Happy Book Hunting, Wolfies!
With new titles, exciting promos, creative workshops, and a strong connection to the GenSan reading community, Big Bad Wolf Books’ return is about more than just books. It’s about making reading accessible, enjoyable, and memorable.
If you haven’t visited yet, there’s still time to browse, explore, and maybe find that one book that makes your trip extra special.
